Bridging indigenous and scientific knowledge to address community challenges
Today, on the International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples, I join the world in honouring and acknowledging the resilience, dignity, and strength of Indigenous peoples around the world. I am marking this day by announcing the launch of the GEO Week 2019 Hackathon: (G)EOHACK19, an #IndigenousHackathon by and for Indigenous communities that will take place November 2-4 in Canberra, Australia. If you want to know why we are turning to the power of the crowd to promote the use of open EO data among Indigenous communities, I invite you to read my blog published on the Group on Earth Observation website.
